AFT Hails Board Election Victories

Teacher Leader Hails School-Board Election Victories of Candidates Backed by Alliance AFT, Labor

Rena Honea, president of the 9,000-member Alliance-AFT, today congratulated Bernadette Nutall and Bruce Parrott on their decisive victories in runoff elections for the Dallas ISD school board last night. Both newly elected trustees were endorsed by the Alliance-AFT.

"It's a new day for Dallas Independent School District," said Honea. "Alliance- AFT members, as well as members of the Dallas Central Labor Council, are excited by Bernadette Nutall's and Bruce Parrott's victories. Our members contributed hundreds of volunteer hours, talking to voters on behalf of
both campaigns. We look forward to working with both trustees, improving education in Dallas for all."
